About The Department

Mechanical Engineering Department is one of the oldest departments of the institute. It is also one of the biggest departments of the institute with student strength of about 400. While managing this increased strength which is an urgent need of the nation, department is committed to well being and all round development of its students.The department currently provides below programmes: 1) B.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) 2)M.tech in Production Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) 3)Ph.D.

Message From Head Of The Department

Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest and broadest engineering discipline, and plays a significant role in enhancing safety, economic vitality, enjoyment and overall quality of life throughout the world. A prerequisite for development is growth and that is directly related to production or output of a country. If production is done via a sustainable path it can maintain the sustainability of development. ​ Our department has a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty, good infra structure and lab facilities. We are striving hard continuously to improve upon the quality of education and to maintain its position of leadership in engineering and technology. ​ The Department of Mechanical Engineering shall be a renowned center for quality education and research, creating competent engineers to serve the society Subrata Bhattachariya Head of the Department
