Myself, Dr. Dipak Kumar Kole, Chairman, JGEC Trekkers' Club, have about seven easy to moderate level of trekking
experiences e.g. Sandakphu Trek, Phalut via Singalila range Trek,
Sairopa Rolta Shield Trek (Himachal Pradesh), Rupam Valley Trek (Buxa Via Santrabari), Paradip to Konark Coastal trek,
Kedarkantha trek and few more.
Among them Kedarkantha trek was the one that will be etched on my memory for life. It was an unique experience
altogether, not only for the marvellous trail, also
it was my first opportunity to lead a group of 43 students of my college for trekking. Since the planning of this trek,
we had an handful of issues. Owing to political unrest in some parts of the country, the trains we had reservation for
onward / return journey got cancelled just before 10 days of commencement of the journey. We could somehow manage to
reserve berths in another train. Our return journey on 11 Mar 2020 was almost on the brink of cancellation due to Covid
19 outbreak in the country.
However, we did overcome all issues and successfully completed our Kedarkantha Trek with our active and sincere Team
After all, our positivity won against all hindrances. I would like to give special credits to Atul and Abir for playing
crucial roles for making this a lifetime experience.
